SECTION 5. <br />The chief of police shall designate one member of the police department <br />to act as chief In the absence of the chief of police. The Village Council <br />and the chief of police shall establish such rules and regulations and <br />working schedules that shalt apply to all the members of the department. Such <br />rules and regulations may provide for periods of probationary appointment of <br />the police department . <br />SECTION 6. <br />The police department shall keep a record, and all persons arrested for <br />violation of the ordinances of said village shall be recorded there, with their <br />names, places of residence, time when arrested, nature of the offense with <br />which they are charged, whether or not committed to jail, when and where exam- <br />tned, acquitted or convicted, the amount of the fine and eosts separately; the <br />length of imprisonment, whether said fine and costs were paid, and to whom, an <br />the department shall produce and exhibit said books, records and entries to the <br />council of said village or to any committes thereof on order of the council. <br />SECTION 7. <br />Said members of the police department shall receive such salaries <br />F, shall from time to time be fixed by resolution of said council, and shall <br />t paid monthly. <br />Passed by the Village Council this 23rd day of January, 1956. <br />/s/ Arnold A.
