ORDINANCE NO. 43 <br />AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO AND ESTABLISHING CONDITIONS OF <br />EMPLOYMENT FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE VILLAGE OF LINO LAKES. <br />THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA, DOES <br />HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. a. All persons employed by the Village of Lino <br />Lakes shall be employed subject to the provisions of this ordinance <br />and shall receive the emoluments, benefits and privileges herein <br />set forth. <br />b. All positions of employment shall be con- <br />ditioned upon the rights and obligations herein set forth. <br />Section 2. The Council shall classify all positions of <br />Village Employment and shall specify those which are supervisory, <br />salaried or hourly, such classification shall be made by Council <br />resolution. <br />Section 3. All hourly wages and increase schedules which are <br />to be effective during a given calendar year shall be adopted at <br />the 1st Council meeting in January of such year. All wage schedules <br />will be reviewed annually preceding January of each year. All <br />salaries for salaried and supervisory employees will be reviewed <br />annually in June of each year. All wages and salaries shall be <br />reviewed by a committee appointed by the Mayor and approved by <br />the council, which shall be known as the Personnel Commission, and <br />which shall make recommendations to the Village Council. <br />Section 4. The standard work week for Village employment <br />shall be 40 hours, and the standard work day shall be 8 hours. <br />Overtime shall be compensated on the basis of compensatory time <br />off for all non -supervisory employees with the exception that <br />hourly paid employees will be paid time and one-half for overtime <br />during the months of November, December, January, February and <br />March. Overtime will not be paid on any basis to supervisory <br />employees if they have put in more than 40 hours per week as may <br />be required. <br />Section 5. All permanent full time employees and temporary <br />L.. full time employees with 30 calendar days service, shall be <br />compensated for a full 8 hour day if employed at the time of any <br />of the following holidays: Christmas, New Years, Memorial Day, <br />July 4th, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day. In the event any of <br />these holidays fall on a Saturday, the preceding Friday will be <br />given off in lieu of the Holiday. In the event any of these days <br />fall on a Since, the fallowing Monday will be given off in lieu <br />of the holiday. Any hourly employee who works on the actual <br />holiday or the day given off in lieu of the actual holiday, will <br />be paid double time, according to the foregoing provisions <br />relating to compensation. <br />Section 6. All permanent full time employees shall receive 1 <br />day of sick leave per month. Accumulated sick leave shall never <br />total more than 90 days. <br />Section 7. All permanent full time employees shall be <br />entitled to five normal working days vacation per year, after the <br />first year. The vacation year will be from January 1st to January <br />1st of the following year, or such vacation time as is authorized <br />by council resolution. Vacation time must be earned before <br />January 1st of the preceding year in order to be effective the <br />
