following year. Credit for a part year shall be 1/12 per month <br />for each full month worked up to a maximum of five days. <br />Section 8. All employees shall be enrolled in the Public <br />Employees Retirement Fund as provided by State Law. Any other <br />benefits for retirement or pension shall be determined by the <br />Council by resolution. <br />Section 9. The Council shall establish a health, accident <br />and insurance plan and the Village shall pay the total cost of any <br />such plan for the employee. The plan shall be reviewed annually. <br />Permanent full time employees must have 3 months actual employment <br />to become eligible for the health and welfare plan. <br />Section 10. Any person who has been in the employ of the <br />Village permanently full time for a period of six months shall not <br />thereafter be discharged without good cause. Whenever any employee <br />is to be discharged from his employment for cause, he shall first <br />have a hearing by the Council upon ten days written notice; such <br />notice to be forwarded by United States Registered Mail to the last <br />known address of such employee. Nothing in this section shall be <br />construed to mean that the Council, or any authorized supervisory <br />employee may not discharge an employee if his job has been abolished. <br />However, an attempt shall be made to relocate such an individual in <br />other employment in the Village if possible. Tenure provided by this <br />section shall apply only to full time jobs in the Village service and <br />shall not apply to part time or temporary jobs. <br />Section 11. Temporary full time or part time employment in <br />Village service shall be entitled to such pay schedules and such <br />over time rates and other benefits of this ordinance as the Council <br />shall determine by resolution at the time of employment or at the <br />time the hiring official is authorized to hire such temporary or <br />part time employee. All temporary full time or part time employees <br />who subsequently become permanent full time employees shall be given <br />credit for previous time worked in computing vacation time, sick <br />leave time and wage increases. This credit shall apply only as to <br />actual time worked during the preceding 12 months and not to the period <br />of employment preceding full time status. <br />Section 12. Nothing in this ordinance pertains to persons <br />employed by the Village on a fee basis. <br />Section 13.
