ORDINANCE NO. 49 <br />VILLAGE OF LINO LAKES, <br />ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE SUBMISSION OF PLANS FOR THE UNDERGROUND <br />INSTALLATION OF PIPES, WIRES, CABLES, ETC., REQUIRING THE <br />UNDERGROUND INSTALLATION OF ELECTRICAL AND TELEPHONE SERVICE <br />LINES IN THE VILLAGE OF LINO LAKES, ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA, AND <br />REQUIRING THE FILING WITH THE VILLAGE CLERK -TREASURER OF MAPS OF THE <br />FINAL—~ LOCATION OF ANY AND ALL UNDERGROUND INSTALLATIONS OF <br />PIPES, WIRES, CABLES, ETC., WITHIN AND THROUGH THE VILLAGE OF <br />LINO LAKES. <br />The Village Council of the Village of Lino Lakes, Anoka County, <br />Minnesota, ordains: <br />SECTION 1. Utilities. All electric and telephone distribution <br />service lines for service to 10 or more homes on contiguous lots <br />or multiple dwellings of 8 or more units, including electric <br />transmission lines at or below 50 KV, shall be installed under- <br />ground, unless the Village Council specifically shall find, after <br />study and recommendation by the Village Board of Zoning, that: <br />a. The placing of utilities underground would not be compatible <br />with the development planned. <br />SECTION 2. Electric Service Entrances. All secondary electric <br />service wiring from the distribution transformer to the meter box <br />shall be constructed so as to make available a minimum of 150 ampre <br />service, and the associated distribution transformer shall be so <br />located to be hidden from view either by burial or location of <br />equipment near to or within the dwelling place so as to provide <br />adequate screening, unless the Village Council specifically shall <br />find after study and recommendation by the Village Engineer: <br />a. The construction of such service has been outmoded by <br />technological development. <br />SECTION 3. Transmission Between Developments. All electric and <br />telephone distribution service lines and secondary services, <br />including electric transmission lines at or below 50 KV, between <br />sub -divisions separated by a distance of not more than 1,000 <br />yards, shall be buried underground, unless the Village Council <br />specifically shall find, after study and recommendation by the <br />Village Board of Zoning, that: <br />a. The placing of utilities underground would not be compatible <br />with the development planned. <br />SECTION 4. Easements. Easements at least 10 feet wide, centered <br />front, rear or other lot lines, shall be provided for utilities, <br />where necessary. Sufficient additional easements shall be <br />provided by the developer, where necessary, for the proper <br />installation of underground telephone and electric equipment to <br />provide for adequate separation for repair and maintenance of <br />underground vaults and direct burial cables. They shall have <br />continuity of alignment from block to block, and, at the <br />deflection points, easements for pole -line anchors and underground <br />equipment shall be provided where necessary. <br />
