When the top of the tank is lower than all floors, basements, cellars, or pits of buildings, and all sewers, catch basins and manholes (1) within a radius of 50 ft. - Unlimited (2) within a radius of 40 ft. - 50,000 gals. (3) withio a radi_zs of 30 Et. - 20,000 gals. (4) within a radius of 25 ft. - 10,000 gals. (5) within a radius of 20 ft. - 5,000 gals. (6) within a radius of 10 ft. - 1,500 gals When such tank is not lower than such basements of other structures, within a radius of ten feet the storage is hereby limited to 500 gallons and the tank shall be entirely encased :tn six inches of concrete. Service Stations. - All Service Stations shall be installed, conducted and maintained in accordance with the following rules: a. All tanks used for storage of inflammable liquids shall be underground tanks installed as provided in the preceding section. b. Delivery of inflammable liquids of Classes I and II from tank wagons or tank cars shall be made direct to the storage tank through the filling pipe from the receptacle from which the liquid is being drawn. No tank wagon may make such delivery with its engine or motor running. c. Delivery of inflammable liquids from the storage tank shall be made through pumps, which are mechanically perfect and so constructed as to prevent leaking or splashing. At the completion of each delivery the discharge hose must be completely emptied or hung up so that no liquids may run therefrom. When the service station is closed, each pump shall be so locked as to prevent the drawing of liquids therefrom. d. Buildings used as service stations shall be fireproof and shall be heated by steam or hot water. The heating plant shall be in a fireproof room with no opening except an outside entrance. This paragraph shall not apply to buildings now being used as service stations, except that no stoves will be permitted under any circum- stances. e. No service station may be located within four hundred feet (400) of any public building. f. No inflammable liquids may be kept in or dispensed from said buildings in open containers and no light or flame shall be permitted within any such premises. g. No person at any service station shall dispense any inflammable liquids to a motor vehicle while the motor of said vehicle is running. h. The maximum amount of storage of inflammable liquids permitted in any service station is 10,000 gallons. Garages. - The storage of inflammable liquids in and near garages for use therein or to be dispensed therefrom shall conform to the following rules, as well as those in preceding sections: a. All garages shall be equipped with sand traps and grease traps which shall be cleaned often enough to keep any sand or inflammable liquid or grease from entering the sewers.
