(i) Grease, oil and sand interceptors shall be provided <br />when, in the opinion of the Village Engineer, they are <br />necessary for the properly handling of liquid wastes <br />containing grease in excessive amount, or any inflammable <br />wastes, sand, or other harmful ingredients; except that <br />such interceptors shall not be required for private <br />dwelling units which discharge only normal wastes there- <br />from. Such grease and oil interceptors shall be of sub- <br />stantial construction, watertight and equipped with <br />easily removable covers which when bolted in place shall <br />be gas -tight and water -tight. All grease, oil and sand <br />interceptors shall be maintained by the owner, at his <br />expense, in continuously efficient operation at all times. <br />(2) It shall be unlawful to discharge into the municipal <br />sanitary sewer system any industrial wastes unless the prior <br />approval of the Village Engineer is obtained. The Village Engineer <br />shall approve the discharge of industrial wastes when, in his <br />opinion, the proposed wastes will not be of an unusual amount or <br />character. When in the opinion of the Village Engineer, the pro- <br />posed wastes are of an unusual amount or character, the Village <br />Engineer may approve such wastes. <br />SECTION 8. Discharge of Surface Waters Prohibited. It shall <br />be unlawful to discharge or cause to be discharged into the municipal <br />sewer system, either directly or indirectly, any roof, storm, sur- <br />face or ground water of any type or kind, or water discharged from <br />any air conditioning unit or system. <br />SECTION 9. Tampering with Municipal Sewer System Prohibited. <br />No person shall maliciously, wilfully or negligently break, damage, <br />destroy, uncover, deface or tamper with any structure, appurtenance <br />or equipment which is a part of the municipal sewer system. No <br />person shall attach any prohibited or un-reported lead or line to <br />that system without having a permit to so do, nor shall any unre- <br />ported connection be made on the owners premises, inside or outside <br />of the building thereon, which would introduce waters or substances <br />prohibited or forbidden by this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 10. Certain Connections Prohibited. No buildings <br />located on property lying outside the limits of the Village shall <br />be connected to the municipal sanitary sewer system unless express <br />authorization therefor is obtained from the Council of the Village. <br />SECTION 11. Entry Upon -Private Property. The Village Engineer <br />and other duly authorized employees of the Village, bearing proper <br />credentials and identification, shall at reasonable times be per- <br />mitted to enter upon all properties for the purpose of inspection, <br />observation, measurement, sampling and testing in connection with the <br />operation of the municipal sanitary sewer system. <br />
