(1) Permit to use a fire hydrant shall be issued for each <br />individual job or contract and for a minimum of 30 days and for <br />such additional 30 day periods as the Village shall determine. <br />The permit shall state the location of the hydrant and shall be <br />for the use of that hydrant and none other. <br />(2) The user shall make a $100.00 advance cash deposit to <br />guarantee payment for water used and to cover breakage and damage <br />to hydrant, which shall be refunded upon expiration of the permit, <br />less applicable charges for use. <br />(3) The user shall pay a rental charge of $10.00 for each <br />30 day period or fraction thereof, and $.45 for each 1,000 gallons <br />of water used. <br />SECTION 35. Temporary connection to Fire Hydrants. An owner <br />of a private water system may make a temporary above ground con- <br />nection to a fire hydrant, subject to the time periods, conditions <br />and payment specified in Section 30 above. In addition, the method <br />of connection to the private system shall conform to all existing <br />requirements of Village Ordinance and the type of meter used shall <br />meet the approval of the Plumbing Inspector. <br />SECTION 36. Hydrant Rentals. There shall be an annual $15.00 <br />rental fee for fire hydrants, payable by each owner (including the <br />Village) upon whose property such hydrant is situated. <br />SECTION 37. Penalties for Violation. Whoever intentionally <br />destroys, damages or tampers with any property of the water system <br />or who shall otherwise violate the terms of this Ordinance, shall <br />be guilty of a misdemeanor and may be sentenced to imprisonment <br />for not more than ninety (90)days or to payment of a fine of not <br />more than Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00), or both. <br />Miscellaneous Provisions <br />SECTION 38. Utilities Superintendent. The Village Council <br />may appoint a Utilities Superintendent who shall assume and dis- <br />charge the responsibilities imposed by this Ordinance, along with <br />such other duties as may be required or assigned to him. <br />SECTION 39. Any provisions of any Village Ordinance previously <br />adopted which are in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION 40. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force <br />from and after its passage and publication according to law. <br />
