Service for two or more apartments may be taken through one meter under a <br />single billing provided that the billing shall be computed as though each apart- <br />ment or dwelling unit used an equal portion of the total service metered and. <br />were independently billed, except that the minimum charge shall be the minimum <br />charge for a single apartment or dwelling unit. An apartment is defined to <br />be a room or suite of rooms used for the general functions of a household and <br />permanently equipped with a sink and cooking facilities, occupying space <br />specifically designed for them, such as a kitchen, kitchenette or pullman <br />kitchen. <br />2. The general service requiredby the apartment building, such as service for <br />hall lighting, garages for private use, laundry rooms, drying rooms, boiler <br />rooms, janitor's supply rooms, refrigeration equipment, oil burners, furnace <br />stokers, and air conditioning equipment, may be taken on the multiple dwelling <br />schedule provided the kilowatt-hours in the second and third blocks of the rate <br />schedule be increased by 150 and 500 kilowatt-hours, respectively, for each <br />apartment not served on this same meter. <br />3. Three phase service, service to motors larger than 5 horsepower, and service <br />to snow melting installations totaling more than 25 kilowatts may be had under <br />such rates as are available to commercial customers for the respective classes <br />of service. <br />4. A customer occupying a building or apartment for residential and commercial <br />purposes jointly may combine his residential and commercial use on such rates <br />as are available to commercial customers for the respective classes of service. <br />A <br />
