4 <br />ALL ELECTRIC RESIDENTIAL SERVICE (Contd) <br />c. For a water heater equipped with one heating element: <br />The tank size and the rating of the heating element for each tank size <br />shall be as follows: <br />Tank Size <br />in Gallons <br />Heating Element <br />Rating in Watts <br />3o 3 500 <br />5o 5 500 <br />8o 5 500 <br />d. Electric water heating service will be supplied only under a <br />single applicable rate schedule. <br />e. The installation shall not be used to supplement any other system <br />of providing hot water service. <br />f. Company reserves the right to control service to the water heating <br />load. <br />2. The specifications for an Approved Space Heating Installation under this <br />rate are as follows: <br />a. Electric space heating equipment (except 120 volt units individually <br />rated at 15 amperes or less) shall be designed to operate at 240 volts, <br />shall be permanently installed and shall be the sole source of space <br />heating except that provided by fireplaces. <br />b. Not more than 10 kilowatts shall be switched at one time by the <br />heating system controls. <br />c. Company reserves the right to control service to the space heating <br />load. <br />3. Service may be taken under this schedule through one meter for a duplex <br />(a single building consisting of two apartments or dwelling units) meeting <br />the above specifications provided that the billing shall be computed as <br />though each apartment or dwelling unit used an equal portion of the total <br />service metered and were independently billed, except that the minimum <br />charge shall be the minimum charge for a single apartment or dwelling unit. <br />4. Snow melting installations or other infrequently used loads totaling more <br />than 25 kilowatts will not be permitted on this rate except where customer has <br />an Approved Space Heating Installation in which case 25 kw or 50% of the space <br />heating load, whichever is greater, will be allowed. In all other cases the <br />General Service rate or other rates are available for such loads. <br />5. A customer occupying a building or apartment for residential and commercial <br />purposes jointly may combine his residential and commercial use on such rates <br />as are available to commercial customers for the respective classes of service <br />but not under this rate. <br />A <br />
