ORDINANCE NO. 62 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A POLICE DEPARTMENT, IN THE CITY OF' LINO LAKES, <br />ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA. <br />The City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, Anoka County, Minnesota, <br />does ordain as follows: <br />SECTION 1. There is hereby created a department of this City which <br />snail hereafter be known as the Lino Lakes Police Department. <br />SECTION 2. It shall be the responsibility of the Lino Lakes <br />Police Department to preserve peasie and public order, prevent and detect <br />crime, and enforce laws and Ordinances of the State of Minnesota, County of <br />Anoka and City of Lino Lakes, within Lino Lakes City, and as authorized by <br />the City Council. <br />T.a? ".SECTION 3. The Lino Lakes Police Department shall be directed and <br />supervised by a Chief of Police. The members of the Lino Lakes Police Depar- <br />tment shall consist of the Chief of Police and such other police officers as <br />the City Council shall hire. <br />SECTION 4. The members of the Lino Lakes Police Department shall <br />be peace officers, and shall be the only persons who shall receive compen- <br />sation from the City for their services as such peach officers. <br />SECTION 5. The Members of the Lino Lakes Police Department shall <br />he hired by the City Council, and shall be subject to removal by the City <br />Council at any time, but after any person has been a member' c f' the f ino_ Lakes <br />Police Department for more than 6 months, he may demand written charges and <br />a public hearing on such charges before the City Council prior to the date <br />when his final removal takes effect. Such hearing must be held within 10 <br />Ways. The decision of the City Council may suspend such person without pay <br />and may designate some person to perform his duties during such suspension. <br />If suspension is found unjustified full restitution with pay shall be made. <br />
