COUNCIL MINUTES <br />March 11, 2019 <br />APPROVED <br />46 ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />47 3A) Consider I" Reading of Ordinance No. 0249, Amending Chapter 208 of the City Code — <br />48 Administrator Karlson explained that the amendment would align with what the City's current <br />49 organizational structure as it relates to the Public Safety Department and is revised to include fire <br />50 personnel. <br />51 Council Member Maher moved to approve the lst Reading of Ordinance No. 02-19 as presented. <br />52 Council Member Stoesz seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />53 30) Consider lst Reading of Ordinance No. 03-19, Amending Chapter 205 of the City Code — <br />54 Administrator Karlson reported that the amendment revises language to confirm that the Public Safety <br />55 Director reports to the City Administrator. Language is also amended to allow for appointment of <br />56 certain temporary positions to be accomplished administratively rather than having to go the City <br />57 Council for approval. <br />58 <br />59 Mayor Reinert added that the temporary positions impacted will always be funded within the budget. <br />6o Any regular full or part-time position will still come forward for City Council approval. <br />61 Council Member Maher moved to approve the lst Reading of Ordinance No. 03-19 as presented. <br />62 Council Member Stoesz seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />63 3C) Consider lst Reading of Ordinance No. 04-19, Amending Chapter 207 of the City Code — <br />64 Administrator Karlson explained that this amendment changes language to reflect the City's current <br />65 organizational structure. <br />66 Council Member Rafferty moved to approve the lst Reading of Ordinance No. 04-19 as presented. <br />67 Council Member Maher seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />68 3D) Consider Resolution No. 19-29, Approving Update to the Personnel Policy — <br />69 Administrator Karlson reported that the resolution updates one section of the City's Personnel Policy <br />70 relative to severe weather. The change removes the ability for employees to utilize sick time for <br />71 severe weather days. It also eliminates severe weather language from the policy to represent that City <br />72 Hall will remain open. <br />73 Council Member Maher moved to approve Resolution No. 19-29 as presented. Council Member <br />74 Rafferty seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />75 <br />76 PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT REPORT <br />77 <br />78 4A) Consider converting seized property to City property for City use — Public Safety Director <br />79 Swenson reviewed his request to convert certain unclaimed property in the property/evidence room <br />80 for City use. The items are listed in the staff report. <br />81 Council Member Maher moved to approve the conversion of listed items for City use as <br />82 recommended by staff. Council Member Rafferty seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice <br />83 vote. <br />
