<br />5/29/2019 25 <br /> <br />• Maintain tree marshalling site and coordinate with District Energy for <br />disposal. <br /> <br /> <br />SOLID WASTE <br /> <br />REPORTING/LICENSING/COMPLAINTS (SW1) <br /> <br />Staff administers and oversees solid waste removal and licensing in the city including response <br />to resident inquiries and complaints. Staff reviews applications for waste haulers, collects fees, <br />and issues licenses according to city ordinance. <br /> <br />TASKS <br />SW1.1 Solid Waste Hauler Licensing <br /> Licensing for solid waste haulers are valid from June 1 to May 31. Begin renewal <br />process in April. <br />SW1.2 SCORE Report <br /> SCORE Reports due January and July. <br />SW1.3 SCORE Grant Application <br /> County sends out SCORE grant applications in September. Application due at the <br />end of October. <br /> <br />PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION AND SUPERVISION (SW2) <br /> <br />Staff administers the recycling program in the city and implements budgeting and reporting <br />requirements for receipt of SCORE funding. Recycling programs include monthly recycling <br />day, annual recycling day, organics recycling, and textile recycling. <br /> <br />TASKS <br />SW2.1 Solid Waste Budget <br /> Balance the SCORE budget with the City solid waste budget. It is highly <br />recommended that all expenses and tonnages be updated in databases as they occur. <br />Keep an updated spreadsheet as expenditures and incomes. <br />SW2.2 Textile Recycling <br /> Simple Recycling contract renewal due March of each year. City will review <br />progress and renew agreement on a yearly basis. <br />SW2.3 Organics Recycling <br /> Monitor organic programs and assist residents with these programs (curbside and <br />drop-off). Monitor organics drop off carts. Update organic drop-off participants list <br />periodically. Send out emails to participants as needed. <br />SW2.4 Aluminum Cans <br /> The City Council started an initiative to collect aluminum cans from businesses. If a <br />business is large enough, they must by state law recycle 3 things. Their lunchroom <br />cans can be 1 of the 3. Check cans for fullness periodically and call ACE when full
