Public <br />Works picks up comingled recyclables from the parks that go in a dumpster at the <br />shop. Make sure this stays clean. If trash accidently accidentally thrown in, the <br />protocol is to dumpster dive. Call Ace when full. <br /> <br />RECYCLING EVENTS (SW3) <br /> <br />The City operates 12 monthly recycling events including the annual Spring Recycling Day. <br /> <br />TASKS <br />SW3.1 Monthly/Annual Recycling Days <br /> Manage the monthly Recycling Saturday with the current vender(s). Monthly <br />Recycling Saturday was the cities first Enhancement Grant project. Monthly <br />Recycling Saturday is on the 3rd Saturday of each month. The moto of “We Recycle <br />at Home, at Work, and on the Go” was part of the initial enhancement grant. Promote <br />this. <br /> <br />In the winter, make sure parking lot is plowed at Lino Park. <br /> <br />Advertise changes to Recycling Saturday. Postcards must reach houses at least a <br />week before recycle day. A newspaper ad can also be used. We have consistently <br />published an advertisement in the Quad Press each year for annual Spring Recycling <br />Day that reaches readers the week before recycle day. <br />SW3.2 Tires <br /> Tires are collected at monthly Recycle Day and brought to the shop for temporary <br />storage. Pick up is coordinated with Metropolitan Mosquito Control based on <br />volume of tires. <br /> <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION (A1) <br /> <br />TASKS <br />A1.1 ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD LIAISON <br /> Staff serves as liaison to Environmental Board, prepares reports, presents at <br />meetings, and assists with carrying out the goals of the Environmental Board. <br /> <br />Environmental Board meetings are held the last Wednesday of every month. Meeting <br />packets must be ready to be sent out the Friday prior to the last Wednesday of the <br />month. <br /> <br />Goals are developed annually for the Environmental Board for the following year. <br />Start on this in October.
