• and get a degree in law enforcement. Mr. Michaels of Forest Lake haS one year left in school.He is a major in criminology and Law Enforcement. He is presently working part time with Wyoming but felt there is little or no chance for a full time position there. He does ride with Highway Patrol. Has had Drug Education course in college but need to complet his first aid. Mr. McLean said that he had to leave but recommended that the Personnel Commission look at the office of the Adminstration with particular attention being focused on the area of financial planning. Mr. McLean felt that those areas need a good reviewing and a good look at those positions. Mr. Johnson said Mr. McLean is asking for an indepth study. He felt this was a little more that this Commission was prepared for. Mr. McLean felt that this could be true. Mr. Tom Samules was the next applicant. He is presently part-time Chief with the Lexington working approximately 50 hours per month. He has been with that force for 5 years and feels that he knows the area - has had some FBI training and radar school - has advanced first aid. Mr. Fred Hillyer was the last applicant. He is presently with the Anoka County Water Patrol - has his own business and felt that this would not interfer with the position since he can control his own hours. He is approximatels 10 to 15 minutes from this building under normal driving conditions - he would consider fulltime- has complete first aid courses - he has 5asic knowledge of the area and surrounding areas - he felt that a )cal force does a better job that contracted coverage. He said that 'e could cut his business hours to suit the hours of a fulltime pose ion. Officer Costa said that 'le had worked with Mr. Hillyer in the water patrol and felt that he 'lad good judgement. The Personnel Commission discussed all the applicants, their qualification: and answers to questions. Mr. Livington moved to recommend the hiring of Mr. Hillyer. Seconded by Mrs. Kelly. Motion carried. Mr. Cartier moved to consider Mr. Ague second. Seconded by Mr. Kammer. Motion carried. Mr. Ze'inka will take these recommendations to the Counci. A tentative date of July 22, 1975 was set for the next meeting of the Personnel Commission. The meeting,was adjourned at 11:OOP.M.
