2020 Budget ‐ Well House #1 Improvements
$625,000 ‐ Water UƟliƟes Fund
Well House #1 was built in 1971. It supplies treated water (chlorine, polyphosphate, and fluoride) to Lino
Lakes residents. The well house includes a 60HP electric pump motor, three chemical pumps, and one
booster pump. The facility itself sƟll has the original asphalt driveway, stucco siding, and meter. The roof is
made of a rubber membrane and the SCADA Equipment was last updated in 1994. The electrical panels have
deteriorated and are obsolete.
While the well is sƟll funcƟoning, it is in need of structural, compliance, and aestheƟc updates. The roof
leaks, the chemical storage room is non‐compliant (noƟfied by MN Department of Health in December,
2017), and the exterior needs updaƟng.
Improvements to the well house would include two new chemical storage rooms, upgraded plumbing and
meter, new roof, and repair or replacement of electronics and electrical panels.
July 15, 2019
110
