Enivornmental Board <br />March 27, 2019 <br />Page 3 <br />APPROVED MINUTES <br />Mr. Heiskary inquired if 42 enforcements actions were typical for the year. Also if <br />there is adequate resources to complete the SWPPP activities each year. <br /> <br />Mr. Asleson replied that the number of enforcements is the close to the same number <br />as the previous year. As far as the funding goes – it seems to be enough unless there <br />is an unforeseen event that depletes the funding. <br /> <br />No one in the audience had any concerns or questions about the MS4 update. <br /> <br />Ms. Kaufenberg made a MOTION to accept the MS4 update and Ms. Holmes <br />seconded the motion. Approved 7-0 <br /> <br />VII DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br /> A. Earth Day <br /> <br /> Earth Day is April 21, 2019 from 12-3pm at Wargo Center. Volunteers should be <br /> there at 11AM and wear their green shirts. <br /> <br /> Would like to have the slide presentation from last year. <br /> Updated information on Emerald Ash Borer, infection map and where <br />residents can bring their Ash trees. <br /> Dog waste information should be available <br /> Simple Solutions bags/flyers will be present to raise awareness of the number <br />of textiles that are going into the landfill <br /> Marshan and Sunrise parks have clean up volunteers <br /> Target wants to be involved <br /> Volunteers – Paula will ask her past students, also Shawn and her son <br /> <br /> Mr. Asleson will send an email to the board members closer to the event with any <br />questions and a brief list of what will be displayed at the event. <br /> <br /> B. Recycling Updates <br /> <br /> Mr. Asleson mentioned that there has not been an Recycling Intern job yet. Recent <br />phone interview were promising, but that student can’t start until mid-May <br /> <br /> There are 291 people signed up for the City’s Organics program. And some of those <br />may have trasitioned to Walters blue bag program. <br /> <br /> Annual Recycling Day is Saturday, May 18 from 9am -3pm. (Correct date). <br /> <br /> Mr. Heiskary asked if there has been any feedback from the recycling haulers about <br />not being able to take certain items anymore because the economics of certain items- <br />such as plastics. <br />
