CITY COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM 6C <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee MEETING DATE: March 25, 2019 TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 19-32, Adopt Local Surface Water <br />Management Plan VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 INTRODUCTION Staff is requesting City Council consideration to Adopt the November, 2018 Local Surface Water Management Plan. BACKGROUND The City Council authorized preparation of the Local Surface Water Management Plan as part of the 2040 Comprehensive Plan update in April of 2017. The Local Surface Water Management Plan was <br />updated to meet the requirements for local plans in the Minnesota Statutes, Section 103B.235, Minnesota Rules 8410 and in conformance with Watershed District, Management Organization, and Metropolitan Council plans. <br /> The Council approved the draft Local Surface Water Management Plan for distribution on January 8, <br />2018. The Rice Creek Watershed District approved the plan on December 12, 2018. The City of Lino <br />Lakes is required to adopt and implement the City’s local water plan within 120 days of watershed district approval, in accordance with the M.R. 8410 and M.S. 103B.235 a 120 days is April 11, 2019. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 19-32, Adopt Local Surface Water Management Plan.
