CITY COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM 3D STAFF ORIGINATOR: Karissa Bartholomew, Human Resources Manager <br />MEETING DATE: March 25, 2019 <br />TOPIC: Appointment of Police Officer <br /> VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 INTRODUCTION <br /> The Council is being asked to approve the appointment of Mr. Kenny Sinna for the vacant Police Officer position. BACKGROUND <br /> There is one vacant Police Officer position within the Public Safety Department. At this time, staff has completed the recruitment process, provided a conditional offer, and is recommending the approval of Kenny Sinna for the position. <br /> <br />Mr. Sinna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and meets all POST mandated requirements to be a Police Officer in the State. Sinna has been a Police Reserve with the Lino Lakes Police Department for the past four years. <br />The hourly rate of pay would be $26.98, which is step one of the union wage schedule. The <br />Police Officer wage schedule has four steps. With the Council’s approval, Sinna would start in the position of Police Officer on April 1, 2019. RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve the appointment of Kenny Sinna for the Police Officer position. <br />
