A total of four bids were received. The bids were checked for mathematical accuracy and confirmed that Midwest Asphalt, Eden Prairie, MN submitted the lowest quote in the amount of $70,487.10. Below is a table of the quote results for reference. <br />Midwest Asphalt Services (Low Bid) Bituminous Roadways New Look Contracting Barber Construction <br />$70,487.10 $71,276.90 $91,850.01 $85,569.00 <br /> The Engineer’s Estimate was $52,978.00. The earthwork, aggregate, and paving item quotes were higher than anticipated, which is likely due to the smaller quantities / scale of the work with <br />respect to costs of mobilizing equipment and crews. We recommend the City Council award a contract in the amount of $70,487.10 to Midwest Asphalt based on their low bid and past performance constructing parks.
