CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 5A <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: May 13, 2019 <br /> <br /> TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution No. 19-58, Providing Funding for Rice <br />Lake Elementary School Playground Equipment Project <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City Council approved Resolution 19-47, Supporting Financial Contributions to School <br />Districts for Playground Structures, earlier this evening. The Centennial School District is <br />requesting City Council consideration in the amount of $20,000 for the installation of new <br />playground equipment at Rice Lake Elementary School. <br /> <br />Funding for the project is currently as follows: <br /> <br />Centennial School District $40,000 <br />PTO $10,000 <br />Color Run/Parent Donations $ 4,860 <br />Parent Donations $ 7,325 <br />Total Revenue $62,185 <br /> <br />With the Rice Lake Elementary PTO working on a few more fundraising activities, the $20,000 <br />City of Lino Lakes contribution will help this project become a reality and be enjoyed by students <br />and the community for the next several years. The installation is expected to be completed by June <br />27th (weather permitting). <br /> <br />Staff recommends funding from the Dedicated Parks Fund. <br /> <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Approve Resolution No. 19-58. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />Rice Lake Elementary Playground Equipment Flyer
