CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 4A <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: John Swenson, Public Safety Director <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: September 23, 2019 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Donation of Seized Property <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The City of Lino Lakes Ordinance 213.07 authorizes the Public Safety Department to dispose <br />of unclaimed property in a manner authorized by a majority vote of the City Council. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />As part of the continued management of police division property and evidence room, staff <br />identified the below listed bicycles for disposal: <br /> <br />1. 19149120 – Bicycle Serial# 99TD102473 <br />2. 19149120 – Bicycle Serial# 54612238 <br />3. 19148113 – Bicycle Serial# WMGSC0050912 <br />4. 19145578 – Bicycle Serial# SNFSD14BE7161 <br />5. 19168829 – Bicycle Serial# P8CX10530 <br />6. 19166909 – Bicycle Serial# SNP7H014393 <br />7. 19166909 – Bicycle Serial# H510210700 <br />8. 19136419 – Bicycle Serial# SD06L52860 <br />9. 18308734 – Bicycle Serial# CB091008 <br />10. 18260018 – Bicycle Serial# NONE <br />11. 18298637 – Bicycle Serial# SNMNG15C32163 <br /> <br />All related court and investigative matters have been completed. Staff has complied with all <br />statuary obligations to notify all concerned parties and received no communications related to <br />any of these cases or the related property. <br /> <br />To eliminate the expense of destroying any of the bicycles, staff is requesting they be donated <br />to the non-profit organization Bikes for Kids based in Ham Lake, MN. This non-profit <br />organization refurbishes donated bicycles and provides them to kids in need in Anoka County <br />and throughout the world.
