CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3B <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Karissa Bartholomew, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: December 23, 2019 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Labor Agreement with LELS, Local No. 260 <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The City Council is being asked to consider Resolution 19-179, “Approving the 2020 Labor <br />Agreement between the City of Lino Lakes and LELS, Local No. 260.” <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />A tentative agreement has been reached for a one-year contract with LELS, Local No. 260. A <br />tentative agreement was reached after one meeting and the union members voted in favor of the <br />following terms: <br /> <br />1) WAGES: 3% wage increase effective January 1, 2020, for all unit members. <br /> <br />2) HEALTH INSURANCE: The City saw a decrease this year and the union and City <br />shared in the decrease for 2020. All remaining provisions remain the same. <br /> <br />3) CONVERSION OF DAYS TO HOURS: Provides that all language within the labor <br />agreement reflect hours versus days. <br /> <br />4) HOLIDAY PAY: Article 13 was revised to eliminate confusion regarding holiday pay <br />language. <br /> <br />5) SEVERANCE: An employee must complete one year of service and provide two weeks <br />advance notice of resignation in order to receive vacation severance. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Authorize execution of the 2020 labor agreement between the City of Lino Lakes and LELS, <br />Local No. 260. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />Resolution 19-179
