CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />DRAFT <br />133 <br />134 Members of the Public Safety Department conducted extensive research on a use of force <br />135 training simulator to determine if these types of systems could improve the training <br />136 provided to our staff. The recommendation from staff is the VirTra V-100 LE system. <br />137 This system would allow instructors to conducted scenario based training with the <br />138 resources currently available to all Lino Lakes police officers, as well as create scenarios <br />139 based on video footage of actual calls that have occurred in Lino Lakes. <br />140 <br />141 Staff is recoirunending the purchase of this. system as quoted with the use of Federal <br />142 Forfeiture Funds. Use of forfeiture funds for this purchase is a permissible use of forfeiture <br />143 funds as outlined in the Guide to Equitable Sharing (July, 2018). The total for this <br />144 purchase is $48,284.85. The Federal Narcotics Forfeiture Fund (Justice & Treasury) <br />145 balance is currently $100,549.97. <br />146 <br />147 Council authorized staff to move forward with the purchase of the Use of Force Training <br />148 Simulator. <br />149 <br />150 10.
