The 42 . 756 that went out in the 'Truth in Taxation <br /> 407 statements is 'a change based on a change in valuation. <br /> 408 <br /> 409 Council Member Kusterman suggested. using more funds to a need that' s there at a time <br /> 410 when funds are available. Mayor Reinert noted that the city was forced into a position of <br /> 411 austerity by the loss of value during a difficult period. Council Member Kusterman <br /> 412 suggested dedicating $ 500,0.00 . :Council Member Manthey clarified that if the fluids are <br /> 413 dedicated, what specifically would they be spent on. Mayor Reinert said the funding <br /> 414 keeps up with the schedule presented; he wouldn't support going higher than presented. <br /> 415 There is $400 , 000 put aside if more is needed and could be used with .a future decision. <br /> 416 The funding would be used for maintenance of current facilities . Council Member <br /> 417 Marnthey said he' d like to see trail projects done . Mayor Reinert asked that the council <br /> 41.8 look at the situation in January, with up to date surplus information, and with a dedication <br /> 419 to trails <br /> 420 <br /> 421 Council Member Rafferty asked that the council make a direction this evening. Mayor <br /> 422 Reinert said how about the $300 ,000 discussed and $ 100,000 for trails. Council Member <br /> 423 Rafferty said he' s more in line with the $ 500 , 000 mentioned; it could be a rare <br /> 424 opportunity . Director Grochala warned the council again about the expenses that exist in <br /> 425 the area of building permit revenues ; many inspections related to the revenue remain <br /> 426 outstanding. <br /> 427 <br /> 428 Council Member Maher said she ' d love to put as much as possible into the goals but she <br /> 429 understands the need for caution. She' d like to do $500 ,000 but sees the $400 ,000 may <br /> 430 be more appropriate at this time. <br /> 431 <br /> 432 The council concurred that the figure is $400, 000 but that doesn' t include the $ 30 , 000 <br /> 433 that is already budgeted for trails . Ms. Cotton explained that the funds will be held in a <br /> 434 management fund and the Park Board will make recommendations that come back to the <br /> 435 council . <br /> 436 <br /> 437 Council Member .Kusterman said he feels $ 500,000 is reasonable with a unique funding <br /> 438 opportunity such as this. <br /> 439 <br /> 4.40 Council Member Rafferty concurred with Council Member Kusterman. He' d like to see <br /> 441 the positive .move forward.
