Employees must contact Human Resources prior to the end of their leave to confirm their return <br />to work date and fitness for duty, if applicable. Employees are not to return to work without prior <br />approval from Human Resources. <br />A request for an extension of a leave of absence may be considered and must be submitted to <br />Human Resources in writing prior to the expiration of the original leave of absence; however, <br />extensions cannot be guaranteed. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, failure to return to <br />work after the expiration of leave may be considered a voluntary resignation. <br />Tested Positive for COVID-19 <br />Employees who have tested positive for the virus or have been exposed to the virus must follow <br />CDC guidance regarding return from isolation or quarantine, as follows: <br />Individuals with COVID-19 who have symptoms and were directed to care for themselves at <br />home may discontinue isolation under the following conditions: <br />— At least one day (24 hours) have passed since recovery, defined as resolution of fever <br />without the use of fever -reducing medications and <br />— Improvement in symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath); and, <br />— At least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared. <br />Individuals with COVID-19 who have not had any symptoms may discontinue isolation <br />when at least 10 days have passed since the date of their first positive COVID-19 diagnostic test <br />and have had no subsequent illness provided they remain asymptomatic. <br />Individuals exposed to COVID-19 who have not had any symptoms may discontinue <br />quarantine after 14 days from the last close contact exposure to an individual with COVID-19. <br />An individual may discontinue quarantine earlier (either at 10 days or 7 days with a negative test <br />result) only if daily monitoring of symptoms has occurred and the individual has not experienced <br />symptoms. <br />We will continue to monitor new legislation as it passes and will communicate changes to <br />employees as they are made.
