Park Board July 6 , 1981 Page Three ,.-..,, Mr. Volk said he didn' t know at this time - he would get some cost estimates and report back. There was discussion on the septic system for this building - Mr. Volk said the type of system would be determined when the site for the bath house is selected. Mr. Schumacher reminded Mr. Volk that a very compelte log of hours he or any of his men spend on this project must be kept . These figures must be available at all times . Mr. Volk said he will be talking to contractors for ideas as to what should be done and when - He will have this report ready for the next meeting. Mrs . LeBlond noted that a walking tour of the Parks by the Park Board had been planned earlier and she felt this should be done soon . She suggested polling the absent members for a date sometime in July. Mr. Schumacher suggested this tour be held after the July 13th Council meeting since there is. a possiblity that two new park board members will be appointed at that meeting and they should be present on this tour - perhaps the first part of August would be a better time . Mrs . LeBlond and Mr . Volk will be absent at that time. Mrs . LeBlond felt this should be done as a body but , if that is not possible , then this could be done on an individual basis . Mrs . LeBlond asked Mr. Schumacher if the Park Board had any input in the ''^ selection of new members? Mr. Schumacher said , according to ordinance , this is a Council decision. The appointments are made on the basis of a resume submitted and from the Council members talking to those persons who are interested. Mrs . LeBlond asked if there were any special qualifications and Mr. Schumacher said , not really, just someone who is interested in seeing that the Parks get developed and is interested enough to attend the meetings . Mrs . LeBlond felt that the Park Board should review the persons who are being considered and forward their recommendations to the Council for the appointments . Mr. Schumacher said he would present this proposal to the Council for their consideration. C . I .P. Mr. Schumacher said this had been included on this agenda for the purpose of the Board reviewing this plan for any possible changes and for the purpose of extending this plan for another year since the budget process has been started for 1982 . Mr. Schumacher went through the 1981 proposed improvements noting what has been completed , what has been started and at what stage of completion the projects are at this point in time . Most of the planned projects should be completed this summer with the exception of Shenandoah and the skating rink ,I�at City Hall Park. There could be some work done on those two projects yet this year - but how much is not known at this time . The remaining years were looked at and discussed in relationship to what is being planned and whether it can be done in that year or should be postponed for one year .
