May 5 , 1980 <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> - Page Two - <br /> years to complete the project . <br /> Mr. Wells asked if there was to be play ground equipment in the Park, Mr . <br /> Schumacher said, there is a designated area as playground area but there <br /> are no plans for the installation of playground equipment . Basically <br /> this is due to the fact that the map was prepared for the grant application <br /> and playground equipment is a nonfundable item. The Park Board was agree- <br /> able to have equipment in the area particularly if it was given to the <br /> Park. <br /> Mr . Wells suggested taking a survey of the proposed service area of the <br /> Park to find out what the residents would like to see in the Park . Mrs . <br /> Sears will work with Mr. Wells on this project . <br /> Mr. Wells informed the Board of the next meeting of the Home Owners <br /> Association and asked if a member of the Park Board could be present to <br /> answer questions . He also requested a copy of the map . Mr . Schumacher <br /> said this is the only map he has - he will draw in the service line on <br /> another map for Mr. Wells . <br /> The tennis courts in Arena Acres was discussed . Mr . Schumacher reported <br /> that when the courts are installed, the fence and nets , which are the <br /> responsibility of the Park Board should be installed immendiately . Mr. <br /> Volk presented the estiamted costs of these items . <br /> Mr . Schumacher felt that this should be considered after construction on <br /> the courts has been started . He felt this money would be available from <br /> investments by the end of the summer . <br /> Mr. Shaughnessy moved to recommend to the Council that the Park Board <br /> assume the costs of the installation of a fence for the tennis courts in <br /> Arena Acres . Seconded by Mr. Scherer . Motion carried unanimously . <br /> Mr . Gary Foster arrived at 8 : 20 P.M. <br /> The plans for the building at the City Hall Park was considered. These <br /> plans are to be recommended for approval by this Board and forwarded to <br /> the Council for their consideration . Mrs . Liljedahl moved these plans be <br /> submitted to Council for approval . Seconded by Mr. Shaughnessy . Motion <br /> carried unanimously . <br /> Mr. Schumacher presented Schunemann Corners plat for consideration . The <br /> plat contains 6+acres - the money in leiu of land would amount to $900 . 00 . <br /> This plat is located near the intersection of Ware Road and 62nd Street . <br /> Mr . Johnson moved to recommend to the Council that money be accepted in <br /> leiu of land. Seconded by Mr . Foster. Motion carried unanimously . <br /> The plat of Land and Oaks was considered . This is located on the SE Corner <br /> of County Road 14 and 135E, and contains 20 acres . This is platted as <br /> Industrial and Commercial property and money will be accepted in leiu of <br /> land. This would amount to $3 , 000 . 00 . Mr. Foster moved to accept money <br /> �\ in leiu of land for the Lands and Oaks Industrial Park. Seconded by Mrs . <br /> SEars . Motion carried unanimously . <br /> Mr. Johnson said the Lino Recreational Association had requested that new <br /> bases and a permanent home base be installed at the City Hall Park . <br />
