January 17, 1977
^The regular meeting of the Park, Recreation and Evironmental Commission was called to
Drder at 8:03 P.M. , January 17, 1977 by Chairman Resch. Members present; Resch, Ringaman,
Olson, Liljedahf, Gredvig, Averbeck. Members absent; Scherer. Mr. Schneider, Council
liason was also present.
Mr. Gredvig moved to accept the minutes of the December 20, 1976 meeting as printed. Mrs.
Liljedahl seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Re-organization
Mrs. Liljedahl suggested Mr. Resch remain as Chairman. There were no other nominations
and Mr. Resch agreed to remain as Chairman.
Mr. Ringaman nominated Mr. Gredvig as Vice-Chairman. Mrs. Liljedahl seconded the motion.
Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Schneider suggested that possibly the Park Commission could elect a member as record-
ing secretary .rather than pay Mrs. Anderson to take minutes. There was discussion of
taping the minutes and having Mrs. Anderson type minutes from the recording. Mr. Resch
felt that since Mrs. Anderson had started taking minutes Cher was better communication
with the Clerks office and the Board was better informed of their budget problems and
expenses incurred in operating the Parks.
Mr. Ringaman felt that if a Board member took minutes, items that need initial action
would not be taken care of prompt)-y.
,fter further discussion it was agreed that Mrs. Anderson would continue taking minutes
for the present.
Mr. Gredvig asked that Mrs. Anderson send Mr. Resch a copy of the Council minutes so that
he can inform the Board of Council actions on Board recommendations. Mrs. Anderson will
do this.
Mr. Resch told the Board Mrs. Spain called him on Friday and informed him she would not
be able to attend this Board meeting. She said she was mailing to City Hall plot maps
and movable items for the Park members to express their ideas on how the Park should be
planned. These items had not arrived at City Hall as of Monday January 17, 1977. Mrs.
Anderson will mail these items to the Park Board members with the copies of tonights minutes.
Mr. Ringaman asked if the electricity for the additional hockey lights at Sunrise Park
could be hooked up by Wednesday January 20, 1977. There is to be a tournament there this
coming weekend and lights will be needed. If nothing else an ext6nsion cord could be used.
Mrs. Liljedahl asked about the communications problems with the Centennial Hockey Assn.
Mr. Ringaman said a member of the Assn. had been present at the last Park meeting and felt
the problem was cleared up.
Police ICR Reports
The Board reviewed the three p6lice reports. The reports stated lights had been left on
at Sunrise Park. Mr. Ringaman asked if the Police Department had keys to the warming house.
'^e asked Mrs. Anderson to check with Mr. Volk to be sure there are keys available to the
r'o I i ce Department.
Mr. Schneider's Report
