Mr. Ringaman said he is going to recommend fencing be included in the Park Commissions budget for 1977 to correct this situation. Mr. Ringaman asked if the Environmental Commission would be informed of the progress of the proposed dog pound on Sunset. He asked the Clerk to call Mr. McLean and ask if the Environmental Commission would have any input on the environmental standpoint and then let Mr. Schneider know what he says. Mr. Schneider suggested that the Park Commission assign someone to attend all Hockey Assn. meetings. Mr. Volk should also go with the representative. The purpose of this would be to determine what help could be expected from the Assn. during the hockey sea- son. Discussion followed. Mr. Resch suggested the Commission draw up guidelines and send them to the Council for approval . Mrs. Liljedahl will get together with Mr. Volk and draw up guidelines before September 13, 1976. A special meeting with the Athletic Assn. was set for 8:30 P.M. September 20, 1976 to present the Park Commissions guidelines to the Association. Mrs. Anderson contacted the Army Corps of Engineers to determine if there is any service available from the Corps for Park facilities. She was told the Corps only improves land owned by the Federal Government. Mr. Olson asked the Commission what could be done about the conditions of the lakes. He had contacted the Department of Natural Resources and they did come out and look at the dead fish. Nothing has been done to clean them up. Mr. Ringaman suggested contacting Mr. McLean since he is a representative to the Open Space program. Mr. Schneider said he would try and find out some background on this matter.
