Page One - February 16, 1976
The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Parks, Recreational and
Enviornmental Commission was called to order at 8:10 P.M. , Feb. 16,
1976 by Chairman Resch. Members present; Ringaman, Liljedahl ,
Olson, Scherer, Hanson. Absent; Gredvig. Mr. Schneider was also
present.
Mr. Resch opened the discussion on what members would be responsible
for which Park. He asked if any of the members had a preference
as to which park they would be working with.
Mr. Ringaman felt that with the financial p©sitpon of the City at
the present time - maybe it would be better to set prior, ites and
all work together on that particular project. Get one thing done
a a time.
Mrs. Liljedahl agredd. She is very interested in getting started
on some facilities for the Hall Park. She felt that Sunrise Park
has adequate facilities for the present.
Mr. Ringaman thought that members could be assigned to oversee the
Parks just to keep an eye on them, but that all members should work
nn one project,
1:r. Resch agreed. He said that in the past, members had been
ess.igned to certain Parks and they presented their ideas for improve-
ments needed in that particular Park. Maybe setting priorities for
the entire area would be best, not for each individual Part.
Mr. Ringaman suggested making a priority list, each member present
his views as to what needs to be accomplished, then putting them
in order and use that list as a guide.
Mr. Scherer fett that before this can be accomplished, this Board
will have to wait for the final figures on what is available for
the coming year. Mr. Schneider felt these figures would be ready
by the next meeting. Mr. Scherer also felt that it would be a waste
of money to upgrade the LaMotte Park on the East side of Centerville
Lake. He felt that the majority of the children that would use
that Park are residents of Center*41le.
If.r. Ringaman moved to ratify the appointments of the Chairman and
he Vice-Chairman made at the last Park Board meeting. Seconded
'.y Mr. Scherer. Motion carried.
Mr. . Ringaman moved to approve the minutes of the January meeting
as presented. Seconded by Mr. Scherer. Motion carried.
Mr. Resch suggested appointing overseers for the Parks - two for
each Park and 2 for long range planning. These long range members
from the past Park Board had worked on a proposed bike trail . Mr.
Resch felt that a bike trail is needed along Main Street .
Mr. Ringaman thought that the study on bike trails should be a
special project with all members working on the plans.
Mr. Resch said that the former members had worked out a eood system
