January 20, 1975 <br /> The first meeting of the Lino Lakes Park, Recreational and Enviornmental <br /> Commission was called to order at 8:10 P.M. by Chairman McGeary. Members <br /> present: Brisson, Kendall, LeTourneau and Gourley. Members absent: <br /> Clausen and Resch. Also present was Councilman McLean. <br /> Mrs. LeTourneau moved to',accept-the minutes of the December 2, 1974 meeting <br /> as written. The motion was seconded by Mrs.Kendall . Motion passed. <br /> The next order bf business was to elect a Cha irpersona and Vice Chairperson <br /> for 1975. Nominations were opened by Mr. McGeary for Chairperson. Mrs. Le <br /> Tourneau nominated Mr. Clausen for Chairperson. tars. Brisson seconded the <br /> nomination. Motion carried. Mr. Clausen will be the Chairperson for 1975. <br /> i,'w mina+ions for Vice C!-,_i; rparson were opened and Mrs. Brisson nominated Mr. <br /> McGeary. Mrs. Kendal seconda' the nomination. Motion carried. <br /> Mr. McLean then reported or, -the last Councii meetin wherein Mr. Ken <br /> Gourley was appointed to the: Park Commission replacing Mr. Don Kent. <br /> "1rs. Brission was reappointed for one year. <br /> 'Ir. McLean advised the commission that he had been appointed as the rep- <br /> resentative from Lino Lakes to serve on the County Advisory Board for Parks <br /> end Open Space and that Mr. Clausen had been recommended as the At-Large <br /> 'representative or th6 CoUntys <br /> n <br /> .he Hockey Rinks were next on the agenda for discussion and Mr. McLean <br /> ,w isnd the commission that bad weather had prevented flooding of the <br /> ileasure rinks at Sunrise and the Hall Park, however the crew is going <br /> J. <br /> start them this week if at all possible. <br /> the Hockey Association had indicated that they are willing to provide <br /> volunteers to scrape the Ice between practices and games if the park <br /> crews desired. It was suggested that they be asked for a roster of <br /> names and that their generous offer be accepted. It is something <br /> that must be done and would be better to have someone from the Hockey <br /> ,�ssociatlon do it, rather than have to have one of the men from the Park <br /> Dept. be on call to scrape rinks. <br /> The next order of 1usiness was a general discussion on the Warming HOuses <br /> that are needed both here at the Hail Park and the addition to the one at <br /> Sunrise Park. Right now general Ideas are needed as to type of building, <br /> ;?ize, etc. to be prevented to a draftsman so he can make sore drawing- and <br /> give the Commission ps 'sdea of what to took for as far as construction <br /> costs are concerned. r�l <br /> At Sunrise Park, ther'o are three rinks planned, two hockey and one pleasure <br /> :-;n an addition to the existing warming house Is needed. The addition <br /> i-hould compliment the axist&ng structure and will have to go to the East <br /> of the present warming house and before the next meeting Mr. McLean said <br /> he would tape It off and asked that Mrs. Kendall get together with Mr. <br /> `iausen to come up with some ideas for the addition at Sunrise. <br />
