that the city was looking at an internist to do this report. Pam
brought up a letter she saw in the Quad Community Press. Barry
said that Marty was addressing this issue with her via a letter.
Pam continued and mentioned that a Park Board member or staff be
involved with the questions in the 20/20 Vision. Barry said he
is looking forward to a survey because when he came to Lino Lakes
he was unclear of what people would like to see as far as
programs. Barry eluded to the fact that he was not a survey
professional. He mentioned that you could have several answers
to a single question and whether the answers are useful. Pam
mentioned that it is possible for the people asking a question to
address a specific question to inspire the interest of the
interviewee. Brian suggested that this group get an option of
meeting with the person who is designing the questions for the
city survey. Brian also suggested that this person visit this
group.
Budget:
Barry has been informed that the expanded playground and
warminghouse general revenue dollars were allocated.
Brochure Advertising:
Barry checked with a couple of cities about placing an add in our
brochure. He said Hopkins-Minnetonka Recreation Department tried
to advertise in there brochure without any luck. Barry was
uncertain if the advertising in the document will pay for itself.
National Youth Sports Coaches Association:
Barry said that he is very involved with this program. He a
certified coach and a person who trains coaches. He continued to
say that he has certified over 200 area coaches in the short time
he has been with the city. Barry is convinced that this program
is making better coaches, better people and a better program.
Barry eluded that this program is assisted through the efforts of
the Circle-Lex Lions Club. Every area coach who attends a
certification clinic pays the cost of $15 .00 . The Lions Club
pays half of the registration fee. Barry also stated that when
he looks at reservations for facilities he looks first for
coaches who have attended clinics. Both Brian and Pam thought
this was a good idea.
Next Meeting:
Thursday December 8, 1994
The meeting dates will be changed to Thursdays. This was a
recommendation from the cc mnittee.
Meeting adjourned at 8:17pm
