,y City of Lino Lakes Recreation Focus Committee Meeting Tuesday, August 16, 1994 IN ATTENDANCE: Rob Schleicher, Brian Bourassa, Cathy Parno, Marty Asleson and Barry Bernstein. Marty opened the meeting by apologizing for the information not getting out in a timely fashion. TEEN SUBCOMMTTEE UPDATE: Marty introduced Rob Schleicher, Teen Subcommittee Member. Rob mentioned the dance we are anticipating having on September 21. Marty talked about the Rehbein building and what needs to be done to possibly get the building ready for the dance. Marty eluded to other trips that are in place for the teens. Barry mentioned plans for a trip to the Mall of America, Vertical Endeavors and a ski trip. Marty stated the ideas are good and the Teen Subcommittee meeting went well. PARK BOARD UPDATE: Marty brought up issues that are facing the City of Lino Lakes Park Board. He mentioned the recreation complex and then discussed the Mayors 20/20 Vision proposal and ^ how they will correspond with one another. He then discussed alternative ideas and touched upon a recreation survey. TRAILS AND PARKS: Cathy Parno said there was a communication breakdown because there are no parks or trails in her development. Brian asked about giving land and money for trails and parks. Cathy said it is not the city doing the development. Brian replied that with so much development going on the Park Board has developed a priority list. Marty also mentioned that in some developments the rock needs to settle down before driving a paving machine on the trail. Cathy then asked what areas, in her development, the new trails would be going in. She said that she finds the trails by mistake because of limited trail marking. Marty stated that a trail map was needed and that a study was being done. Brain mentioned that the City deserved an A+ for the trail system that we have in Lino Lakes. Cathy said advertising for future construction projects should be in the paper and the brochure. She also eluded to her frustration of no park in the Wenzel Farm area. Marty said a concept plan needs to be brought forward. Cathy asked if the Wenzel Farm Addition had $100, 000 for playground equipment. Marty responded that Rice Lake Estates was the park that had the $100, 000. Marty suggested that Cathy arrange a neighborhood meeting. Brian said it was a way to let people know about park improvements and development. Marty then said that every year dollars are put into the budget for -00�*N development.
