8. Playground Equipment Review—Marshan Park and Arena Acres Park <br /> (Rick asked members to look at the plans after the meeting. He is taking this to the <br /> next City Council meeting so equipment can be purchased and raised sometime between <br /> May and July. <br /> 9. Recreation Department Update (Rick asked members to look over report and call the <br /> office if they had any questions. He also told members that a year end warminghouse <br /> report was included in the packets.) <br /> A. Employment Flyer <br /> (Rick asked members to look over the employment flyer.) <br /> 10. Parks Department Update <br /> (Rick asked members to review the update and call if they had any questions. They <br /> talked about the bleacher problem that has been in the press.) <br /> 11. Old Business <br /> A. 1999 Goals (George will take the 1999 goals to the March 3 work session.) <br /> 1. Inline Skate Board Ramps (After discussion Pat Huelman made a motion <br /> to proceed with original plan to spend $10,000 and work with the school <br /> district for location for ramps. Also, leave selection of equipment up to <br /> staff and participants. Seconded by Paul Montain and approved.) <br /> 10MN 2. Wenzel Farms Pedestrian Bridge (Rick explained the pedestrian bridge <br /> would be 8' wide and cost approximately $15,000. There is $11,400 <br /> already dedicated to this project. Paul Montain made a motion to <br /> approve the additional spending of$3,600 for the Wenzel Farms <br /> pedestrian bridge. This will be a wooden bridge. Seconded by Sharon <br /> Lane and approved.) <br /> B. Trapper's Crossing Trail Connection to Birch Park <br /> (Rick explained there is a 18' grade difference in a 160' span. A step system <br /> type trail would need to be done. It was suggested that caution signs be put on the <br /> heads of the trail for safety purposes. Paul Montain made a motion, seconded by <br /> Pat Huelman, to pursue step option and proceed with the purchase of the Whitcomb <br /> property. Motion passed unanimously.) <br /> 12.
