10. Review of New Playground Equipment Bids (Rick said Birch Park and Lino Park were awarded to Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground, Inc. and Flanagan Sales, Inc. was awarded the bid for Shenandoah Park. Birch Park is scheduled to be installed August 15, Shenandoah Park is August 22, and Lino Park is October 3. All to start at 9am. The Department is seeking volunteers for all three parks.) A. Shenandoah Park Equipment Location (Rick presented 3 concept plans for this park. After discussion the board suggested concept C-1. This is on file in the Park and Recreation office.) 11. Recreation Department Update (Rick highlighted some of the summer programs.) 12. Parks Department Update (Rick read memo from Mike Hoffman.) 13. Old Business (There was no old business to discuss.) 14. New Business A. Resignation of Tim Anderson—Park Maintenance Worker (Memo was self explanatory.) B. Hiring of Steve Gilbertson—Park Maintenance Worker (Memo was self explanatory.) C. Park Board Information Notebooks (Members thanked Sandie for the books. They thought it would help keep them organized.) D. Review Park and Trails Map (Rick gave all members a copy of the new map. A smaller one should be available, for residents, in a couple of weeks.) E. Cooperative Venture—Athletic Complex (Rick meet with North Oaks Company and White Bear Twp. to discuss the possibility of a cooperative venture south of Co. Rd J and W of Centerville Road. The Park Board had a consensus for Rick to continue discussion with the two groups.) F. Comp Plan Update (Paul gave the history of process from start to present and told members what the final process of this procedure. He urged members to look at the proposed plan and give input before it is too late.) 15. Next Park Board Meeting August 3, 1998 16. Adjourn (Meeting was adjourned at 8:57pm.)
