DATE: AUGUST 24, 1990
TO: BILL HAWKINS
FROM: MARTY ASLESON
SUPERINTENDENT OF PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY
CITY OF LINO LAKES
RE: LEASE OF PARK LAND IN THE CITY OF CIRCLE PINES
Please see the enclosed maps delineating a parcel of land
that the City of Lino Lakes wishes to lease from the City of
Circle Pines for park development purposes.
We have been working with the neighborhood group of Rice Lake
Estates for several months in an attempt to develop a
neighborhood park area that would meet their needs. We have
also been working with the City of Circle Pines to lease a
portion of land for our park purposes and for theirs to use
since both sides seem to share a common need there. This
area delineated on the map seems agreeable to both cities and
would also serve the recreational needs of both cities. Thus
I have been directed by the Park Board to have a lease
agreement drawn up to accommodate this use.
In past correspondence that we have had with the City of
Circle Pines it was agreed that we would both benefit from a
joint park arrangement in this area.
The lease agreement should be for at least a 30 year
renewable (or whatever you feel is appropriate) .
If you have any questions, please call. Thank you.
cc Don Volk
