PARK BOARD MEETING <br /> n <br /> September 5, 1990 <br /> Bob Williams called the Lino Lakes Park Board meeting to <br /> order at 7: 08 p.m. at the Lino Lakes City Hall. Members <br /> present were: Candy Toffoli, John Bauman, Bob Williams, and <br /> Ken Johnson. Absent were: Bill Nissen and George Lindy, and <br /> Ray Johnson. Also present was Director of Public Works, Don <br /> Volk; Parks Superintendent, Marty Asleson; Planning <br /> Secretary, Laura Elken; and Parks Secretary, Carol Kohler. <br /> CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES: <br /> Ken Johnson stated that on page three under Joint Powers <br /> Agreement it reads "the committee met last Thursday" It <br /> should read: "the committee will meet next Thursday" <br /> MOTION: Bob Williams moved to approve the August park board <br /> minutes as corrected. Motion was carried. <br /> OPEN MIKE <br /> No one appeared before open mike, however, Laura Elken, <br /> Planning Secretary took this time to inform the board that <br /> this was her last park board meeting as she is cutting her <br /> time back to three days per week to allow for more time for <br /> her family. She introduced Carole Cohler who will take over <br /> her duties regarding park issues. <br /> ICE ARENA UPDATE/A BOARD MEMBER FROM THE CENTENNIAL ICE <br /> ASSOCIATION WILL BE ATTENDING. <br /> Frank Zimney, a board member of the Centennial Ice <br /> Association was invited to appear before the board. He left <br /> a message saying that he was unable to attend, but invited <br /> the park board members to a meeting on September 18th at 7: 00 <br /> p.m. at Joe Marshall & Associates in Circle Pines off Lake <br /> Drive. Correspondence regarding this meeting will be sent to <br /> the park board members. <br /> PARKS DEPARTMENT BUDGET REVIEW <br /> The park board members received a break down of the proposed <br /> 1991 budget regarding parks. <br /> Don Volk said that he has added to the budget one full time <br /> person to be added to park staff. Also an intern may be <br /> hired for the forestry department. This intern would be a <br /> seasonal worker. <br /> Don Volk explained to the park board that this is the <br /> proposed budget. The city council has to review this and <br /> approve this, and realistically, there may be some cuts. <br /> Don explained that a 40 HP Tractor w/turf tires to be used on <br /> the city's trail system and a 6M 72 Diesel Toro Mower will be <br /> taken off this budget and if purchased will be through a <br /> Page 1 <br />
