PARK BOARD MEETING <br /> AUGUST 31, 1989 <br /> r1, <br /> '- recommended changes to the Joint Powers Agreement. Don Volk <br /> asked that the board review these changes and if there are no <br /> objections it will go before council at its next meeting. <br /> All changes will be reviewed at a meeting by the Recreation <br /> Committee in mid September. After that meeting a final draft <br /> will be completed. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Main Street Shops <br /> Don Volk stated that with the current ordinance Main Street <br /> Shops does not qualify for park dedication. <br /> Staff is surveying other metro cities to find out how they <br /> claim park dedication. <br /> Don Volk stated that the city council approved the hiring of <br /> a new Park Superintendent . His name is Marty Asleson. Marty <br /> will start working on September 15th. Marty will dedicate <br /> full time to city parks . Don will bring him to the next park <br /> board meeting and introduce him to the board. <br /> John Bauman asked about the Pine Bark Beetle status . Don <br /> ^. Volk stated that the traps are working well and he will ask <br /> Mike to put together a presentation for the park board in <br /> October. <br /> Bill Nissen adjourned the meeting at 7: 47 p.m. <br /> Page 3 <br />
