PARK BOARD MINUTES <br /> June 5, 1989 <br /> n <br /> The regular Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was called to order <br /> at 7 : 04 p. m. at the Lino Lakes City Hall . Members present <br /> were: Chairman Ray Johnson, Bill Nissen, Ken Johnson, John <br /> Bauman, and Robert Williams . Also present were : <br /> Councilmember Andy Neal ; Public Works Director, Don Volk; <br /> and Planning Secretary, Laura Elken. <br /> CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> John Bauman moved to approve the April Park Board minutes as <br /> written. Bob Williams seconded the motion, and the motion <br /> was approved unanimously. <br /> CONCEPT PLAN REVIEW OF JUSTIN HOME BUILDERS/JIM HELD, <br /> APPLICATION *89-12, *89-13, AND *89-14. <br /> Jim held presented a concept plan for Willow Ponds - <br /> Townhomes located west of the Catholic Church, south of I- <br /> 35W, and north of Elm Street . <br /> Willow Ponds did receive approval from the Planning and <br /> Zoning Board in May. <br /> There are 70 homes planned for this development . <br /> Jim Held stated that an allowance of $1 , 100 . 00 per unit has <br /> been budgeted for landscaping, with a total amount of $75 , 000 <br /> to $80 , 000 to enhance the site. <br /> There is a row of pine trees near the freeway. The applicant <br /> is leaving 60 feet from the trees to the townhomes for open <br /> space. <br /> There is a tot lot planned with non-movable playground <br /> equipment . Mr. Held stated that swingsets , merry-go-rounds , <br /> and other movable playground equipment is not allowable. The <br /> liability insurance for moveable playground equipment is too <br /> expensive for it to be feasible. <br /> Trails are planned from the south east end, along the <br /> roadway, running near the pond, and connecting the open <br /> spaces together. <br /> MOTION: Ken Johnson moved to request a $400 . 00 per unit park <br /> dedication for Willow Ponds Development , and all trails be <br /> established per city trail ordinance. Bill Nissen seconded <br /> the motion, and the motion was approved unanimously. <br /> Jim Held asked for an overall decrease in landscaping. The <br /> board stated that will have to be discussed at the next <br /> Planning and Zoning meeting. <br /> Page 1 <br />
