PARK BOARD MINUTES <br /> February 8, 1989 <br /> The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Park Board was called <br /> to order at 7: 02 p.m. , by Chairman Ray Johnson. Members <br /> present were: Ken Johnson, Bob Williams, Candy Toffoli, John <br /> Bauman, and Bill Nissen. Also present were: Park Board <br /> Liaison and Councilmember, Andy Neal; Councilmember, Harold <br /> Bisel; Public Works Director, Don Volk; City Forester Mike <br /> Hoffman; and Secretary, Laura Elken. <br /> Members Absent : George Lindy <br /> CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES: <br /> John Bauman approved the minutes of January 4th as written. <br /> Candy Toffoli seconded the motion. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> Chairman Johnson started the meeting by introducing Andy <br /> Neal , newly appointed Park Board Liaison for 1989 to the Park <br /> Board Members. <br /> PLAQUE PRESENTATION/CHIEF SOCCER ASSOCIATION/BOB DETERMAN: <br /> Bob Determan presented a plaque to the Park Board, thanking <br /> n them for our contribution in field support in 1988. <br /> FORESTRY ISSUES/MIKE HOFFMAN, CITY FORESTER, JEANNETTE <br /> MONEAR, COUNTY OAK WILT REPRESENTATIVE: DAVE STEVENSON, MN <br /> DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE. <br /> Mike Hoffman would like to start looking at a long term <br /> forestry plan, and establish new ordinances . He felt the <br /> present Diseased Tree Ordinance should be updated. The <br /> following represent what Mike Hoffman would like to see in <br /> future ordinances: <br /> 1. Planting Ordinances <br /> A. Spacing of trees <br /> B . Species <br /> 2. Urban Tree Inventory <br /> 3. Establishing Tree Maintenance <br /> A. Fertilization Program <br /> B. Providing Winter Protection <br /> C. Providing Pest Control <br /> D . Planting Schedule <br /> 4. Insect and Disease Control Program <br /> A. Oak Wilt <br /> B. Dutch Elm Disease <br /> C. Pine Bark Beetles <br /> Page 1 <br />
