PARK BOARD MEETING SEPTEMBER 7, 1988 <br /> The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Park Board was called <br /> to order at 7 : 00 P.M. , by Chairman Ray Johnson, Wednesday, <br /> September 7 , 1988 at the Lino Lakes City Hall . Members <br /> present: Chairman Ray Johnson, Candy Toffoli , Bob Williams, <br /> John Bauman, Bill Nissen, Ken Johnson, & George Lindy. Also <br /> present were: Public Works Director - Don Volk, City <br /> Engineer - Ron Stahlberg, City Forester - Mike Hoffman and <br /> Secretary - Laura Elken. <br /> CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES: Chairman Ray Johnson approved the <br /> minutes as written. <br /> CITY STATUS ON TREES - Mike Hoffman <br /> Mike Hoffman presented a tree species inventory in all City <br /> Park lands to the Park Board. Mike stated that dutch elm <br /> disease is present in Country Lakes Park and South Reshanau <br /> Lake Estates. <br /> Oak Wilt is not present in any of our City Parks at the <br /> present time. Samples from various private properties have <br /> been sent to the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and <br /> have come back negative. <br /> Don Volk added that 6 or 7 years ago there was a <br /> considerable amount of Oak Wilt in our parks , but that it <br /> has been taken care of. <br /> There was discussion regarding incorporating a Tree Board in <br /> the City of Lino Lakes . After discussion a motion was made. <br /> MOTION: Bob Williams recommends to Council that the Park <br /> Board, Mike Hoffman & Don Volk, take up the duty as a <br /> Forestry Board as needed in Lino Lakes. Mike Hoffman will <br /> become the Chairperson of this Board. Bill Nissen 2nd the <br /> motion and the motion was carried unamiously. <br /> WILDWOOD ESTATES/PARK DEDICATION: ELMER CROHN <br /> Mr. Crohn has 118 acres in 2 1/2 acre lots. Giving 10% of <br /> his land for park dedication would be a hardship to him. <br /> Page 1 <br />
