His second concern was <br /> that there have been quite a few robberies in their area, <br /> and the walkway would create easy accessability to their <br /> homes . Don Volk told him it ' s not a certain plan yet . <br /> There will be more discussion on the proposed walkway. <br /> CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PLAN: There was discussion regarding <br /> planting trees and shrubs and the need for money to do this . <br /> The parks need to have shade in them too ! Chairman Ray <br /> Johnson said it ' s hard to keep the shrubs once they are <br /> planted. Being we' re in a rural community we have a problem <br /> with cars running over them and kids destroying them on <br /> purpose. Questions were raised regarding our own nursery <br /> and what the stock consists of. Don Volk reassured the <br /> Board that it would be at least 5-6 years before our nursery <br /> is productive. At this time we are just putting in <br /> seedlings . <br /> The Board wants estimates on fencing for their parks . Don <br /> Volk will come back to our next Park Board meeting with a <br /> dollar $ amount more realistic: on our capital improvements <br /> plan . <br /> OLD BUSINESS : <br /> A) Budget Update: postponed until next. <br /> Park Board meeting. <br /> B) Park Dedication Ordinance: Effective <br /> January - Council didn ' t have a problem <br /> with this . <br />
