PARK BOARD MEETING <br /> SEPTEMBER 8, 1992 <br /> The September 8, 1992 meeting of the Lino Lakes Parks and <br /> Recreation Board was called to order at 6: 30 pm at Lino Lakes City <br /> Hall by Vice Chairperson Ken Johnson. Roll Call was taken, members <br /> in attendance were Jacquelyn Farm, Ray Johnson, Ken Johnson and <br /> Candy Toffoli. Members absent were Brian Bourassa, John Bauman and <br /> George Lindy. Also in attendance were Marty Asleson, Parks, <br /> Recreation and Forestry Coordinator, Linda Elliott, Councilperson- <br /> Liaison to the Park Board, Jeff Schoenbauer, Representative from <br /> Brauer & Associates, and Carole Kohler, Parks and Recreation <br /> Secretary. <br /> The minutes from the August 3 , 1992 meeting were approved as <br /> mailed. <br /> OPEN MIKE - No one appeared under Open Mike <br /> OLD BUSINESS : <br /> Completed Comprehensive Plan - Jeff Schoenbauer from Brauer & <br /> Associates appeared before the board with his comments on the <br /> finished comprehensive plan. He explained that the plan has been <br /> sent to the Metropolitan Council for their consideration and <br /> approval. The Lino Lakes City Council has approved the document <br /> contingent upon approval and acceptance by the Met Council. Mr. <br /> Schoenbauer feels that this document will impact the decision <br /> making process regarding parks and recreation development in the <br /> community and hopes that the council is aware and will use it in <br /> their planning process. Linda Elliott commented that the council is <br /> pleased with the plan and is very much aware of what a good tool it <br /> is. She thinks that all Planning and Zoning board members and <br /> Council members should have one. <br /> Ken Johnson mentioned that he was skeptical (at first) of spending <br /> the money for the plan, but now he is very pleased with the results <br /> and wants to work with the other boards to see that the plan is <br /> carried out. He would like to see new priorities set each year in <br /> respect to the comprehensive plan. Jeff Schoenbauer commented that <br /> chances for the City receiving grants and funding have been greatly <br /> increased with this document. <br /> Acquisition and Move of Shelter Donated by City of Shoreview - <br /> Jeff Schoenbauer referred the board to the copy of the project <br /> tracking sheet in their packets that he had prepared as an example <br /> for the board to use in following various projects/developments the <br /> board would act upon. The framework of this tracking sheet includes <br /> an overview statement explaining the particular project, then staff <br /> comments for consideration with a listing space for positive and <br /> negative attributes.
