CITY OF LINO LAKES PARR BOARD MEETING JULY 6, 1992 Personnel I Crews/Parks, Recreation Balance - Marty Asleson explained that with the new park, of course there is need for more employees. The parks department will be adding a new person this year, in parks maintenance. Recreation Committee Formation - There has been some interest regarding formation of a recreation sub- committee. Marty Asleson has sent his resolution on to the council, and expects that they will adopt it. Spring/Summer Recreation Programs - Barry Bernstein updated the board on the current programs. Marty Asleson handed out information with profit and loss balances for all the programs from early Spring to current. Barry explained that a few programs were dropped due to lack of interest, such as the teen programs. Marty commented that we will keep trying programs for teens, and hope that one will get their attention. The department will be putting out a Fall brochure soon - if anyone has any ideas, please let Marty or Barry know. Forestry: 211 trees were planted in developments in the city this year. Marty reported the Tree Preservation Ordinance is working well. Developers are catching on now. He noted that there will be monies coming for oak wilt control, and there will be funds available in 1993 also. This will help to pay for the vibratory plow we will be using. Other Old Business: Ray Johnson referred to the last meeting where he questioned why there was no culvert built in at Wenzel Farms. He thinks there should be one there. Marty Asleson explained that he was told the design was correct for this development. NEW BUSINESS LINO CITY FESTIVAL - This event has been known as Lino Days in the past.
