CITY OF LINO LAKES <br /> PARK BOARD MEETING <br /> JULY 6, 1992 <br /> Lakes Park more aesthetically pleasing. There is a good deal of <br /> work to be done, such as removing stumps so that it can be mowed. <br /> Candi Toffoli mentioned that the neighbors are concerned about the <br /> algae problem in the water here. She noted that the neighbors are <br /> circulating a petition to ask the City to clean up the problem. <br /> Marty Asleson explained that the City is currently working on a <br /> surface water management plan. <br /> The board was concerned about the condition and quality of the <br /> water in Lino Lakes this year. George Lindy suggested that someone <br /> involved in water management be scheduled on the agenda for an <br /> upcoming meeting. <br /> Shores of Marshan Lake - The city now owns the building located on <br /> this property. It has been agreed that the old owner can use the <br /> building for storage until we want to move in. Marty Asleson will <br /> set up a tour of this building for the next park board meeting. He <br /> explained that the trails are roughed in. He also noted that <br /> evidently this is somewhat of an historical area. At one time long <br /> ago there was a stop off station for wagons nearby and other points <br /> of historical interest. <br /> Rice Lake Elementary - Marty Asleson explains that tke field here <br /> is going real good. There have been two mowings alre . There are <br /> a few glitches with the irrigation system, but that will be worked <br /> out. He commented on what a nice agreement we have with the School <br /> District regarding the use of this facility. <br /> Country Lakes Park - Councilperson Linda Elliott, received a <br /> complaint from a resident about the looks of this park. As noted <br /> earlier, clearing of stumps started last year when Marty used some <br /> workers from the prison. However, this created a problem because <br /> these workers weren't very adept at the use of the equipment. This <br /> year he does not have the help from the prison. The boat dock is in <br /> at the lake, it will be fenced off in the winter. <br /> Aras Property (N-14) - This item will surface on the Agenda again <br /> sometime in the near future. Mr. and Mrs. Aras were at the Comp <br /> Plan Public Hearing. Marty Asleson reported that he is still <br /> interested in obtaining part of the Aras property for park use, and <br /> will keep the board appraised. <br /> Rice Lake Estates - Joint agreement with Circle Pines regarding a <br /> park for this development is still being handled and "dragging on" . <br /> Marty Asleson has recently talked with Jim Keinath of Circle Pines <br /> and reports "no progress.
