PARK BOARD MEETING <br /> MONDAY, APRIL 6, 1992 <br /> The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Board <br /> was called to order on Monday, April 6, 1992 at 6 : 30 PM. In the <br /> absence of Chairperson George Lindy and Vice Chairperson Ken <br /> Johnson, newly appointed member Ray Johnson assumed the duties of <br /> chairman for this meeting. Newly appointed Park Board members were <br /> introduced, they are Brian Bourassa, who resides on Arrowhead <br /> Drive, Jacquelyn Farm who lives on Centerville Rd. , and Ray <br /> Johnson, newly appointed former Park Board member. Also in <br /> attendance was John Bauman, Candi Toffoli, and George Lindy who was <br /> not able to attend the beginning, or stay for the entire meeting. <br /> Absent was Ken Johnson. City Staff in attendance were Don Volk, <br /> Director of Public Works, Marty Asleson, Parks, Recreation and <br /> Forestry Coordinator, Barry Bernstein, Recreation Program <br /> Supervisor, and Carole Kohler, Parks, Recreation and Forestry <br /> Secretary. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A motion was made and unanimously passed to <br /> accept the minutes of the March 2 , 1992 Park Board meeting as <br /> written. <br /> OPEN MIKE: No one appeared under "Open Mike" . <br /> OLD BUSINESS : <br /> Park Updates - <br /> Comprehensive Plan Marty Asleson distributed copies of <br /> insertions/additions to the Comprehensive Park Plan Section 8 - <br /> (Implementation) that included a Priority Ranking Matrix regarding <br /> land acquisition. He asked the board to take their time to review <br /> it and rank the parks according to how they would like to see them <br /> phased in. He also suggested that the members take their time to <br /> review the matrix and get back to him with their priority choices <br /> and comments by the 21st of April . If they have any questions they <br /> could also call Jeff Schoenbauer at Brauer & Associates . <br /> Shelter Purchases - Don Volk informed the board that the Shores <br /> of Marshan Lake development is progressing as usual. It will be at <br /> least two or three months before homes start to be built here. We <br /> will be able to take possession of the building that we will <br /> purchase at the time of final plat approval . Marty Asleson says <br /> Jack Menkveld, the developer says we can start to take some of the <br /> trees out of there. Marty thinks that there are a lot of nice trees <br /> that can be transplanted and thinks it would be a shame to see them <br /> dozed over. He has talked to a non-profit organization called Twin <br /> City Tree Trust in the hopes of making a deal with them. <br /> .-r <br /> Birch Park - Marty informed the board that the trailer house at <br /> 1 <br />
