is another possibility. This area is mostly wetland albeit a small
length in the western most lot of Lot 1, Block 2 of this
development. This is the lot on the eastern side of the tooth. It
would be wide enough to run a trail halfway through the marsh, and
a boardwalk would need to be used on the reif. (wetlands have
changed since 1974) . One other option would be to bury a trail
right-of-way underneath the power poles that traverse from east to
west on the southside of the large blocked in (proposed park
acquisition site.) This right-of-way definitely would give access
to the regional park. The laws of Eminant Domain would probably
have to be used here.
The park land issue is still being looked at also. A six acre area
was proposed in this are (plus or minus) . My initial reaction was
to look at Outlot A. This would have been perfect. Most all of the
upland area here was sold last November. Jeff Schoenbauer suggested
the area that is starred in red. This area is privately owned and
forested upland. It would be a suitable site. One other option is
to pursue some sort of agreement with Anoka County Parks inside the
regional park. If you have time please take a look at these areas.
8
