includes 4 acres of upland property. We would not be interested in selling the city
anything less or subdividing any portion of the property. The wetland property would
not be contiguous to church property and would be of no benefit to the church.
Because you have indicated that the city may choose to condemn this property, I sought
the opinion from several different attorneys and appraisers as to what would be a fair
position on this property. They informed me that should the city wish to condemn this
property that the city would have to pay severance damage on wetland property. Our
selling price is based on this consideration.
The closing date on this property is December 1. Because of this deadline, we-would
ask that you, the City Park Board and the City Council consider this proposal in October.
A wetland delineation and survey will be completed should the city decide to purchase
this property based on our proposal. Should the city not be interested in purchasing
this property, please inform us so that we may move forward to contact developers in
order to reduce our liability on this land.
On behalf of our church, we wish to thank you for the good working relationship that
we have experienced with you and other staff members of the City of Lino Lakes as we
^ discuss this matter. We look forward to meeting with you in the near future discussing
how we may work together to further the park development for Lino Lakes.
Sincerely,
Tim Yantos, Chairman
Shoreview Covenant Church
Work: 323-5692
Home: 571-2182
TY:sa
cc: City of Lino Lakes Park Board
City Administrator Randy Schumacher
Jim Anderson, Pastor
Finance and Property Committee Members
Richard D.
