CITY OF LINO LAKES _e <br /> PARK BOARD MEETING ; <br /> MONDAY, OCTOBER 4, 1993 <br /> Park Board chairperson George Lindy called the regular meeting of <br /> the Lino Lakes Park Board to order at 6:30 pm at Lino Lakes City <br /> Hall on Monday, October 4, 1993. Roll call was taken, other members <br /> in attendance were Bob Williams, Brian Bourassa, John Baumann, Ken <br /> Johnson, Joe Schmidt and Jacquelyne Farm. Also in attendance were <br /> Linda Elliott, City Council member/liaison to the Park Board, Marty <br /> Asleson, Parks,Recreation and Forestry Coordinator, Barry <br /> Bernstein, Recreation Program Supervisor and Carole Kohler, Parks, <br /> Recreation and Forestry Secretary. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br /> The minutes of the September 7, 1993 meeting were approved with no <br /> corrections or additions. <br /> OPEN MIKE• <br /> No one appeared under Open Mike <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Pets in the •Parks and Trail Problems - Jeanie Kenow, Community <br /> Service Officer, who was scheduled for comments at this time was <br /> unable to attend this meeting. She will be at the November meeting. <br /> Park Plan Updates - Country Lakes and Woods of Baldwin Lakes Parks. <br /> Marty Asleson reported on the September 30th meeting held to review <br /> the park plan concepts with neighborhood residents. The meeting <br /> regarding the Country Lakes Park re-design plan was attended by <br /> only one resident. (Discussion regarding the Country Lakes Park <br /> plans will be reported further into these minutes. ) The meeting <br /> regarding the Baldwin Lake plan was attended by approximately 15 <br /> neighborhood residents, Marty Asleson, Park Board Members Brian <br /> Bourassa and Joe Schmidt and Council Member Linda Elliott. <br /> Marty explained that most of the comments were positive input <br /> regarding the park plan. Brian Bourassa commented that there are <br /> still a few who do not see a need for a park in this area at all, <br /> but agreed that the majority want a play area and equipment. The <br /> neighborhood group has scheduled another meeting for October 28th <br /> to select equipment and organize neighborhood volunteers. Follow up <br /> of the meeting will be reported. <br /> There were two plans submitted for Country Lakes Park. Both show <br /> designs to use the beach for a swimming area and one has a canoe <br /> launch planned. There was some discussion involving a trail with a <br /> turn around at the lake to accommodate boat launching among other <br /> amenities. George Lindy suggested a "brainstorming" session where <br /> the board could sit down and review both plans, possibly combine <br /> them, to- come -up with a plan acceptable to everyone. Then have <br /> Brauer ` and Associates design a final plan concept using the <br /> 1 <br />
