CITY OF LINO LAKES _e PARK BOARD MEETING ; MONDAY, OCTOBER 4, 1993 Park Board chairperson George Lindy called the regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Park Board to order at 6:30 pm at Lino Lakes City Hall on Monday, October 4, 1993. Roll call was taken, other members in attendance were Bob Williams, Brian Bourassa, John Baumann, Ken Johnson, Joe Schmidt and Jacquelyne Farm. Also in attendance were Linda Elliott, City Council member/liaison to the Park Board, Marty Asleson, Parks,Recreation and Forestry Coordinator, Barry Bernstein, Recreation Program Supervisor and Carole Kohler, Parks, Recreation and Forestry Secretary. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes of the September 7, 1993 meeting were approved with no corrections or additions. OPEN MIKE• No one appeared under Open Mike OLD BUSINESS: Pets in the •Parks and Trail Problems - Jeanie Kenow, Community Service Officer, who was scheduled for comments at this time was unable to attend this meeting. She will be at the November meeting. Park Plan Updates - Country Lakes and Woods of Baldwin Lakes Parks. Marty Asleson reported on the September 30th meeting held to review the park plan concepts with neighborhood residents. The meeting regarding the Country Lakes Park re-design plan was attended by only one resident. (Discussion regarding the Country Lakes Park plans will be reported further into these minutes. ) The meeting regarding the Baldwin Lake plan was attended by approximately 15 neighborhood residents, Marty Asleson, Park Board Members Brian Bourassa and Joe Schmidt and Council Member Linda Elliott. Marty explained that most of the comments were positive input regarding the park plan. Brian Bourassa commented that there are still a few who do not see a need for a park in this area at all, but agreed that the majority want a play area and equipment. The neighborhood group has scheduled another meeting for October 28th to select equipment and organize neighborhood volunteers. Follow up of the meeting will be reported. There were two plans submitted for Country Lakes Park. Both show designs to use the beach for a swimming area and one has a canoe launch planned. There was some discussion involving a trail with a turn around at the lake to accommodate boat launching among other amenities. George Lindy suggested a "brainstorming" session where the board could sit down and review both plans, possibly combine them, to- come -up with a plan acceptable to everyone.
