their side of the city. Our concern is generated from our mission
statement of "providing a comprehensive, balanced, and high quality
system of parks, natural/open spaces, trails and leisure oriented
activities for the city residents to use and enjoy in as cost
effective manner as possible. " We feel that our Parks and
Recreation Department is a binding tie to the city as a whole, and
the use of the Lino Lakes School is important to meeting this
mission. The unavailability of the school and the duplication of
programs simply helps to reinforce the feelings of separation that
our northern tier residents have expressed to us.
Please consider this as a request to allow the Lino Lakes Parks and
Recreation Department to provide recreational opportunity for Lino
Lakes Residents in the Lino Lakes Elementary School, and to not
duplicate program efforts on a competitive basis. A simple
solution would be to simply block in a time that we might use the
school. There would be a savings to the school district and the
city by an effort to not duplicate programs. We feel that we offer
our programs at a very competitive price using quality staff, and
training in all instances. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely, '
Marty Asleson
Parks Recreation Coordinator
City of Lino Lakes
